Off Road vehicle nuisance and rural crime.

Over the weekend officers from Rushcliffe NPT have been joined by the forces off road bike team for patrols around Rushcliffe.

With the harvest in full flow crops are being cut and access is often open or altered in rural areas which can lead to an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour including but not limited to theft of machinery, theft of fuel, arson to straw stacks, illegal off road driving and riding, wildlife crime such as hare coursing and deer poaching, dogs worrying livestock and other rural thefts.

Officers patrolled the area around the villages in Leake, the Soar Valley, Gotham, Fairham and Barton in Fabis where they engaged with those working and living in the area.

Officer from Rushcliffe NPT also conducted an early morning patrol in Cotgrave country park  as part of Op Traverse working with the Angling Trust, Environment Agency, Fisheries and Fishing Clubs to tackle poaching, fish theft and anti-social behaviour around fisheries.
